A few hundred glowing slivers drift in a slow nebula, pre-placed by anamorphic back-projection: a reticle glyph — three concentric rings and a crosshair — is sampled in a fixed sweet-spot camera’s screen space, and each shard is pushed out along its sight-ray to a random depth, so on that ray it reads identically at any distance. As the orbiting camera crawls through the sweet-spot pose the per-shard wander damps to nothing and the scattered dust snaps into the glyph, firing a white flash; past the pass they unclench and dissolve back into drift. The shards never explode — the alignment is purely a function of camera viewpoint. Hold the pointer to nudge the orbit.
