Now the signal is visible: a firing tower shoots bright bowed arcs to its neighbours — a light packet runs across then fades — so the contagion reads as a lightning network. As clusters lock the arcs thicken and warm from lime toward amber; at full sync a radial shockwave sweeps the sea surface and vertical columns of platinum light rise from the aligned towers; then the coupling flips negative and the columns collapse from the base into scattered blinking.
