#492Polarization Cloak Moiré
Two polarizing filters slowly rotating against each other, their crossed gratings weaving a drifting moiré interference field whose overall brightness swells and dies by Malus’s law as the filters align and cross. Through this field cruises a ship you cannot see: its cloak doesn’t hide it from the light, it rotates the polarization passing through the hull — so the only trace is a shear in the moiré fringes, a ship-shaped disturbance sliding through the pattern. Hover to grab the analyser and set the filter angle yourself, scroll to change the grating pitch, and press to fire a decloaking pulse that flashes the hull and its rim into view.
