A cool aluminium plate finished with horizontal hairline grain: per-groove value noise stretched hard in x gives the fine brushed texture. A single anisotropic highlight — a Gaussian broad along the grain (x) and tight across it (y) — glides sideways over the surface on an eased ping-pong, the grain chopping it into travelling glints. A fainter counter-drifting band adds depth; the pointer steers the highlight and a press tightens it into a sharper flare.
