#109ZX Spectrum Color Clash

The rolling-hills landscape squeezed through the Spectrum's infamous attribute limit: every 8×8 cell may hold just two colours (ink + paper), and both must share one brightness bit. Each cell scans itself for its brightest and darkest points, snaps those to the ZX palette, then thresholds every pixel between them — so smooth gradients shatter into 8-pixel blocks and neighbouring cells visibly fight over which two colours win at their shared edge. That fight is the whole charm.
