About me

Switch careers to frontend developer

KITERETZ inc.

Changed jobs to pursue the web. Working on markup with HTML/CSS/JS, sites that pair WordPress or Astro with a CMS, and application development with Next.js.

Reunite with the web

The web person left the company I had joined as a graphic designer, and the web work landed on me. Handled the whole flow — site planning, design, photography, and coding.

Start working at STANDARD BOOKSTORE

Mainly handled buying for the store. Later took on event flyers and café menu design, and an interest in graphic design began to grow.

Fall for photography hard enough to turn my room into a darkroom

Got hooked on black-and-white film. Developing alone was never enough — I printed and framed everything myself, and even had work shown in a gallery.

Drop out of university after six years

Submitted my thesis, then completely lost the will to attend and left.

Discover web development while job hunting

Started a blog to keep notes from my job hunt. Customizing it led me to teach myself HTML/CSS. Helped a student-run startup with production work and built sites for student organizations.

Start hitting a keyboard for 708 yen an hour

Took a part-time job making POP signage at a supermarket. A senior who studied computing taught me the basics — and drilled into me to reach for keyboard shortcuts whenever possible.
